What is Work A Day for Peace?
Work a Day for Peace is in its 6th year this fall!

What does Nonviolent Peaceforce do, and where?
Nonviolent Peaceforce is an active alternative to the use of violence as a response to conflict! Nonviolent Peaceforce trains unarmed, non-violent civilian peacekeepers for deployment in conflict zones around the world.

International Day of Peace
International Day of Peace was a resolution created by the United Nations.

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors, There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

Lao-tse, Chinese Philosopher

International Day of Non-violence
The idea for a day devoted to non-violence came from the conference of “Peace, Non-Violence and Empowerment—Gandhian Philosophy in the 21st Century” held in January 2007.

How Can you get involved and Work A Day for Peace?

PEACE FACT: Pablo Picasso made the dove as a peace symbol famous when he used it on a poster in 1949 for World Peace Congress.
